Shafer Trail

Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky district, UT, May 23, 2003

After a jetboat trip down the Colorado and 4WD ride up the Lathrop Trail and along the White Rim, we took the Shafer Trail up to the top of the Island in the Sky.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get any photos that properly showed the climb up. I had several that showed pieces of the climb, but none that illustrated the whole thing. But what about the photo above? It's not a photo! In fact, I used Photoshop Elements to paste together 3 photographs into the sweeping image of the Shafer Trail that you see above.
