Box Canyon Falls
No, this is not the Black Canyon of the Gunnison! This photo looks upstream from a suspension bridge over Box Canyon. I walked up the trail to the top of the canyon, which lies 200 feet above the canyon floor. There I was surprised to see how the rocks have moved around. Some to the right appear to to have been tilted by more than 100 degrees from the horizontal. The park brochure says the rocks are quartzite and were tilted on end during their formation.
