[Emerald Toucanet]

This type of Emerald Toucanet is sometimes called the Blue-throated Toucanet. Currently, the AOU considers it a subspecies, A. p. caeruleogularis, of the Emerald Toucanet. This view is shared by the AOU's South American Checklist Committee.
